What information would you love to find more easily?

Hi everyone, I’m a mum of two kids on the spectrum. As you know, navigating resources when your child gets a diagnosis can be overwhelming. I’ve built a free webpage that summarises all the latest Autism information and research in one place, in the hopes that it will help other parents and carers like me.

What other information would you love to be able to find more easily?

  • Information on how to find support for autism would be good. I've looked for a lot but there isn't a great deal around unfortunately in my area. I do all my support research online but in person would be good as well and likely more beneficial.

  • Thanks for trying to increase knowledge and information about autistic experiences but unfortunately all your information is incorrect and rooted heavily in the pathology paradigm. If you want to learn more about autistic experiences in a neuro affirming way please use these links:

    Ausome Training:

    https://monotropism.org/

Our autistic experiences are a result of a different neurotype, we are not disordered.

  • I would love to see links to blogs/forums or info for parents of young adults(18-25) who need social/ friendship support. A lot of info for parents of autistic children but nothing for newly diagnosed and struggling young adults.

  • What type of support, specifically? Do you find websites like ASAN useful? I believe they're US-based but they have have self-advocacy resources that might be useful https://autisticadvocacy.org/resources/

  • Completely agree - connecting with other parents who are on a similar journey can be so helpful and affirming. I love the idea of school-related stuff! Is there in particular you'd want a resource / blog post on?

  • That would be useful!

  • future winning lottery numbers

  • I agree r.e. school information as well. I found high school an extremely confusing and challenging time to get through and often wished there was more support to help me through it. Though at time time I wasn't aware of having autism.

  • I would like to see more information on support for autistic people as this area is seriously lacking, especially if you happen to be an autistic adult. I've done my reading but there is little information on support for the autistic population. I think it would be beneficial for the diagnosed and those waiting to be diagnosed.

  • Personally, I'd love to see more info on local support groups and events for kids with autism. It's always nice to connect with other parents and share experiences. Also, maybe some tips on dealing with school-related stuff would be super helpful.

  • Here are a few books for you that may help

you capture more intrinsically, the situation.

to know your subject more fully!
