Hyperactivity

One of our students is extremely hyperactive at the moment. On a typical day they are relatively calm and collected until there is a trigger.

Yesterday, they were running and pacing the school, ran out of school, screaming and shouting, very vocal, chatty and loud, just to name a few.

Why, we don't know as of yet.

Parents have already handed over this morning that they are displaying the same behaviours last night and again this morning.

Why? What can we do to help? Their behaviour has never made sense to us because it mainly all mood dependent. Triggers are all just random.

  • Here is an update from today. They had the same behaviour today but much more aggressive. They were hyper and happy but were kicking and hitting, strangling and choking staff.

Never seen behaviours like this from this student before and it is puzzling because they say nothing is wrong but this is not their typical behaviours.
