Leaving work to become full to house Dad!!!

Good morning I hope everyone is well today, I currently have a big decision to make. My daughter is having serious issues at school and is on the autism pathway, we have paid to have an assessment which is booked for next month.
the problem o have is my wife runs a business and I am the higher earner in the household, my job is highly stressful and I have had my own mental issues in the past few years, I feel with the phone calls appointments and therapy for my daughter I would be better being at home full time to care for and help. Does anybody know if this is possible as I have always worked but I want to be there for my kids full time? What is the process and is there help available with a diagnosis

?

thanks

  • Back in early 2000 fate gave me the opportunity of being a full time stay at home dad, & once I'd worked out a system for the housework I started to wonder why on earth some women hankered after the world of work!

BUT. My O/H had already organised the house and it wasn't full of crap so it was light work.

It's way easier to tidy up and clean back to an established  "standard" than to establish that standard.

I had sufficient spare capacity, to do a small it recycling thing that brought in on average about 100 quid a week.
