My 10 year old son was hit by a lot of the boys in his class last week. His crime? Scowling on the class photo; they said he ruined it for them all. He hates photos and being the focus of attention, the fact that there were others with him still doesn't register that it’s not all about him. The mind blindness because of his Asperger's means he has no idea how his actions would affect anyone else.The teacher put the fear of god into them......and made them all write out an apology. I told the TA I was scared they might retaliate after getting into trouble (she's brilliant by the way....there are some good ones out there) but she said they would have to be particularly stupid to do anything else after the teacher had a go.
I am sorry to read that your son has had such a terrible experience. I hope that he is ok (and that you are as well). Your situation sounds so similar to what happened to my son when he was younger. However I can say that after the teachers dealt with the boys concerned in a very stern way, there was no repeat of the behaviour. Children can be so cruel and it is really upsetting for both you and your son.
