Teenager feeling isolated

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum and would really like some advice on how I can help my 13 year old daughter meet other teenager girls and boys who have Aspergers. We are having a tough time at the minute with her socially and she is feeling quite different and isolated and I am really keen for her to have someone else to speak to who shares her interests and who she can connect with. I am struggling to know where to start.

Any advice would be wonderful. We live in Sheffield and my daughter is 13 with Aspergers.

Thanks Sam

  • I dont mean to stereo type by what i am going to suggest, but you know those individuals, who are often on their own, appear to struggle in groups or making friends, those that may appear "different",? Would it be an idea to try to connect with some of these individuals? They may be feeling the same? It could be just a smile, a friendly gesture that could break the ice and lead to two people finding that they are similar and have things in common. Maybe its easier as we get older to do this, but just a thought x
