Anyone flexi-schooling?

Faced with the common issue of my 11 yr old AuDHD son not wanting to go to school, I discovered "flexi-schooling". I'm now writing a proposal to put to his secondary school to request that he does one day a week "home schooling" while remaining full time on the school's roll. I googled "flexi-schooling" on the NAS website and found an interesting article about it, but just wondered if anyone on here was doing it and how you found it. Thanks :-)

  • Hi

I'm in Cornwall and have been down this road with my now 18 yr old daughter, years of secondary school hell.

I built up a good relationship with the head of year and attendance officer and have no shame in admitting laying on with a trowel, the hopeless mum at end of her teather routine....

Our school didn't/ wouldn't do flexi schooling, although many places do so keep pushing for it.

Eventually I told them the only thing I could see working would be a one on one tutor but that I could never afford it. At which point they started talking about a group they were affiliated with called pendenas which did just that. So for her last year before GCSEs we had a tutor come to the house a couple of days a week and she managed to scrape through the exams....you may find your school has something similar.

It's not advertised and hard to get, like everything nothing seems to happen without us having to research and push....good luck, hope you get something sorted.x
