Hello,

today my little girl has been diagnosed with autism?? I now we sort of knew this was the. Case but a formal diagnosis has hit me hard...are there any other mums out there with little ones in the same position??? I would welcome all replies.

    I have contacted the local branches near SW london and hopefully there will be a group that I can join. Like Mummy51 I am struggling to come to terms with the diagnosis even though I have suspected it for many years. I had secretly been hoping the NHS assessment would just say it was just bad parenting, as then I could do something about it, rather than feeling helpless. However the information you have sent me is a good start and I am hopeful that there are others who have gone through the same thing, that would appreciate sharing their experience.
