Hello,

today my little girl has been diagnosed with autism?? I now we sort of knew this was the. Case but a formal diagnosis has hit me hard...are there any other mums out there with little ones in the same position??? I would welcome all replies.

    My 7 year old daughter was diagnosed with Aspergers last month and I would really like to talk to people who have been through this before as I am struggling to think through the most important things I can do to make life better for her. e.g. I don't know when to try and explain it to her and when and if to tell the other parents at her school. 

    She knows she is different and doesn't have any friends but desperately wants friends as she is an only child.  I am not sure if it would make socialising easier or worst if other girls knew why she behaves differently and being at a girls only school may not help.

    Any ideas  / knowledge of local groups ?
