bus pass / oyster card

Help !!!

My daughter has Aspergers and is constantly losing her Oyster card (which is like a bus pass).  She tries hard to keep it safe, especially as she knows I will cut her pocket money to pay for a new one.   This card costs £10 to replace.  Not much, some people would think, but we are buying new ones every month or so.  Not only that, but while we are looking for the lost card and waiting for the new card to arrive, my daughter has to give the full ADULT fare on every bus - this totals up to about £8 PER DAY!

I am annoyed with Transport for London, but I wrote to them some time ago explaining the problems and they refused to do anything to help.  Has anyone else had experience of this?  Did you ask for help and get somewhere?

Maybe I did not ask the right people?

  • Not a bad idea in theory, but she would never accept this as it would make her different from others.

We have now given her a little wallet where the oyster card is kept.  It doesn't really solve the problem but makes the oyster card a bit more obvious so hopefully harder to leave behind or drop.

    Thanks for ideas
