bus pass / oyster card

Help !!!

My daughter has Aspergers and is constantly losing her Oyster card (which is like a bus pass).  She tries hard to keep it safe, especially as she knows I will cut her pocket money to pay for a new one.   This card costs £10 to replace.  Not much, some people would think, but we are buying new ones every month or so.  Not only that, but while we are looking for the lost card and waiting for the new card to arrive, my daughter has to give the full ADULT fare on every bus - this totals up to about £8 PER DAY!

I am annoyed with Transport for London, but I wrote to them some time ago explaining the problems and they refused to do anything to help.  Has anyone else had experience of this?  Did you ask for help and get somewhere?

Maybe I did not ask the right people?

  • I was thinking the same thing as reclusivemonkey. I'll try to find some of the websites where people talked about customising oyster cards - I know some people were trying to put them in watches.

Even if she needed one of the photo ID cards, if she has a discounted rate, it may be she could have one for that if asked and the other one in a way she wouldn't lose as easily.

But clearly this is very frustrating, it seems many people are experiencing frustrations with travel and services that don't seem to do enough to support their customers.
