DLA for High Functioning ASD

Hi

I have 2 ASD children - 15yo boy and 11yo girl. Both diagnosed this year.

Eldest about to start online schooling as going to school was too stressful, daughter about to start year 7.

Have been looking into DLA - is it worth applying  ? They have additional needs compared to my other child and there is a very real ASD tax of catering to their behaviours. I just wondered whether it is worth applying given they are relatively high functioning.

    Looking at the eligibility criteria it looks like DLA is the only thing they might be eligible for. can’t get PIP until they’re 16.

    I know nothing about DLA. i’ve looked into PIP and I know but it’s very difficult for high functioning autistic people to qualify under PIP if they don’t have other conditions.
