Best ear defenders for noise-sensitive kid?

Hello All,

I have an 8 year-old daughter who is extremely triggered by noise. We bought a pair of Snug ear defenders but she is disappointed with them as they muffle noise, but do not get close to the complete silence that she was hoping for.

I know that total silence might be too much to ask for, but does anyone have any recommendations for kids' ear defenders that get as close as possible? Or any other solutions for kids who struggle with noise?

  • Hi, I use ear defenders quite a lot at work, the problem is that they aren’t supposed to block out all sounds. I find over ear noise cancelling headphones really good, they can either link to a phone,TV or any Bluetooth device. They can just be switched to noise cancelling and do block out a lot of noise. I sometimes connect to white noise and that blocks out all other noises. Some hearing is picked up from the mastoid bone behind the ears so ear defenders will never block out all noise.
