Navigating adolescence with teen girls on the spectrum

Hello, I have two teen daughters on the spectrum, 16 and 14. I’m trying to find ways to navigate how to best assist my girls in understanding the complex emotions and interests that they’re beginning to experience. As well as communication technology that I have little experience with. And how to navigate difficult conversations. Any advice from a parent that has “been there” would be appreciated.

  • You've got some great recommendations for resources already! As someone who had a pretty rough time as an (undiagnosed) autistic teenage girl but came out of it more or less in one piece, I'd also like to recommend Chloe Hayden's book 'Different, Not Less'. I think it would be an enlightening and helpful read for you AND your daughters.
