Hello, I've just joined. I'm trying to help my step son to track down 8 bbc vhs videos. That's the vhs cassette tapes. He's trying to complete his collection which starts : bbcv 4100 and ends bbcv 4199. These numbers cover the 1st 3 years of his life. The bbc vhs no. is on the spine of the box. The bar code on the back of the box contains the bbcv no. We've really tried everything to find them. Here's what we've done : contacted bbc archives, contacted the bbc shop, contacted bbc worldwide, contacted the British Film Institute, regularly check out amazon and ebay and also google other sites where people collect vhs tapes. Unfortunately we don't have the titles so it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. This collection is so very important to him and it causes him sadness and distress that we cannot complete it. A number of people are trying to help : his mum, me, his support staff and some of their friends, his dad. He is much younger than his years emotionally and is so disappointed, hoping that a vhs cassette will arrive soon and then it does not. He understands the difficulties in finding them, he also looks himself on his laptop and in the charity shops, but emotionally it's so hard for him. I know it's a long shot but has anyone got any other ideas which we could try? Does anyone know of someone who has old vhs? Once we have the titles to go with the bbcv numbers then we might be able to complete his collection. It's been 11 weeks since we found 1, so the pressure's really building and any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks everyone.
