Choice of Driving Instructor / School

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on how to choose a driving instructor / school?  How did you decide who to go with, was it to contact people from a 'google' list in your local area (I did this for an older sibling without ASC). My daughter is 17 and very keen to learn to drive, she doesn't have any motor skill issues but does need lots of time and patience to build her confidence.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hello, my daughter is learning to drive through the Queen Elizabeth Foundation in Carshalton Surrey London borders. https://www.qef.org.uk/service/mobility/  They do assessments and have an off road driving area and are excellent. She is learning on an automatic which helps as there are not so many things to remember, if you were nearer I would recommend them.

However as there was a long waiting list for driving lessons they recommended looking at this website https://www.disabilitydrivinginstructors.com/  we waited for QEF driving lesson  availability but this website might help you to find local driving instructors who understand.

I would definitely agree with Debbie on learning to drive on automatic cars and finding an instructor  who specialises in teaching  “disabled” drivers. Hope you find someone suitable.
