What help is available while waiting for a diagnosis

We are waiting for my 7 year old daughters autism assessment, iv been told it can take up to 2 and a half years. We have been turned down for DLA due to lack of evidence are now going to Tribunal. Senco have been no help at all.. she wont even meet with me until my daughter gets her diagnosis. Iv tried finding clubs for her to attend but this isnt something we can afford as i cant work due to my daughters needs. I feel like we are stuck and unable to get help until we have her diagnosis

Some things you could try while you're waiting are seeing if there's a local NAS branch near you - https://www.autism.org.uk/what-we-do/branches - or looking in the autism services guide here on the site which lists various kinds of groups and support services that you can filter by region - https://www.autism.org.uk/directory. You might also want to try the Education Rights Helpline - https://www.autism.org.uk/what-we-do/help-and-support/education-advice-line - which can offer advice and support on education law, parents' rights and entitlements and resolving disagreements.

The 'extra help at school' section of our advice pages - https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/topics/education/extra-help-at-school - also has advice on what to do if you feel that your daughter's school isn't providing sufficient help.
