Urgent advice needed. EXAMS NEXT WEEK

My daughter has her Functional Skills exams next week, Monday and Thursday. I just got told today, same with her. They have been preparing her but don't tell her, its in her best interests, otherwise she'll worry about it. She's a very bright girl so I don't think she'll struggle much. She is being picked up at 7:30am on Monday, and taken straight to the exam centre and will be there all day. She does have her tutor/a preffered staff member who she knows and trusts with her. I'm not sure what to do though. She's upset due to the short notice and nerves. They said these are her real exams and has been doing many test ones in school but has refused to write for herself and stuff. I'm not sure how this is going to go but she and I know that everyone is supporting her in every way.

Any ideas are welcome. Many thanks

  • I've had more update from the school. She knows her staff, has a schedule, knows everything about timings and the building she will be in. They've done everything they can to prepare her. They will take her out for lunch. Its going to be a long day for her, and a lot of anxiety and nerves. She has had a social story which is amazing and she gets extra time and breaks.

The school and myself have agreed it is a high risk situation. When she gets overwhelmed she tends to run. If any signs are showed or if she's unsafe, she will be held by her staff and any other staff which are in the building. The building is right next to a motorway which is scaring me. She has been stopped a few times from running into such busy roads. And if she runs out of sight from staff, the police will be called immediately. She will not have her phone on her these days.

She is a bright clever girl and I know she'll do really well. I just need to stop worrying about what might happen if she gets overwhelmed. I know that staff know her well and will be with her the whole time.
