Hi,
I'm a high-functioning autistic parent with a 12 year old H-F autistic son. He has an EHCP (after a Tribunal battle) so we are very slowly getting some limited educational provision in place. School attendance is sporadic due to other health issues, so we are also trying to get support for when he misses school.
Our son needs support with social skills and the school's support is severely limited in this respect. I'd like to find out what social and/or activity groups exist that are set up to support children to help them meet their peer group and to get support to develop their social skills or to take part in activities in a sympathetic environment.
The County Council doesn't have any knowledge or resources so have only signposted me to a few vague web-links, which don't help.
Does anyone know if such groups or activities exist in East Sussex (or possibly West Sussex or Kent?
Thanks,
Matt.
