Hi,
I'm a mum to two ASD kids, one nearly seven, the other three. Since the end of November, my little boy has been soiling himself every day, and I put it down to the excitement/anxiety around Christmas. It definitely got worse as Christmas approached, but then as Christmas passed he carried on doing it. So I thought, maybe he's anxious about going back to school and he'll get back to being able to use the toilet and stay clean and dry again once the first few weeks are done at school. This hasn't happened!
To add to that, his little sister has been doing her number twos in her knickers for months on end, even though she was quite confidently using the toilet at two and a half years old. They both suffer with constipation.
My daughter seems to prefer to lock herself away anywhere other than the toilet to do her poos in her knickers. If i leave her with no knickers on, she tends to go and sit on the toilet with a step and seat and even tries to clean herself up afterwards, so she is capable of doing it quite independently. I'm not sure what to do anymore! Any ideas on why this might be happening or advice on helping them to stop?
