Hello everyone,
My son is 4 and was diagnosed with asd when he was 3. He did an excellent job toilet training but we got stuck using a potty rather than a toilet. He will use the toilet at home but uses a potty everywhere else including grandparents houses and nursery which are all places he feels comfortable.
We have been carrying around a travel potty since he trained in the spring and We take him to public toilets or the toilets wherever we are and use the potty there. However, recently he has started refusing the potty in these places.
We feel the best way forward is to transition him to using a toilet and get rid of the potty but are concerned about going in the wrong direction and creating anxiety around toileting.
If anyone has any advice, we would welcome it.
