My son is 17 and has just started college. It has become apparent now, that he is struggling socially and emotionally and college recommended he be referred for a ASD test.
College gave me all the paperwork to give the GP and a right to choose letter, so the doctor could refer him to a certain practitioner for his ASD test ( sounded easy)
Met with GP this morning and he says before he can refer we need to go via Cahms neurodiversity clinic and fill in lots of paperwork.
I am confused already. Has anyone else had any experience of any of this.
