How to stop itching legs after shaving

We've had quite a few meltdowns today over my daughters legs being itchy. She shaved them Saturday and since they've been irritating her. She uses shower gel, non perfume one, for sensitive skin and cleans all the hair off the razer after.

I have bought creams and lotions to help with the itchiness but it's not helping her and lotions and creams are a sensory issue so we are lucky if she even tries it. We do put ice packs on them to help the swelling and cool the legs down but they don't last long. She's currently sat in bed with cold damp flannels but having anything wet or damp on her is another sensory issue...

Does anyone have any tips, I've looked on the Internet, asked friends, and nothing has helped so far. Thanks

  • Does she have to shave her legs? I know, at 16 she probably doesn't want hairy ones, even if she always wore leggings. But I think there are other ways to remove hair? They might not be any better of course, I think one is a cream. Waxing is probably too painful. Personally I never shaved mine at that age and don't now either, but my legs were never very hairy and I never cared about being fashionable either.

  • In the Summer she will shave them twice a week so she can wear shorts and sometimes doesn't irrate her but sometimes do. She hasn't shaved in months because she's been wearing joggers but came downstairs saying, and I quote, 'I've shaved my legs because I looked like a bear and now they are really itchy'. I will look at the cream, thanks.
