CAT communication/autism team

hi! jsut wonder if anyone knows...

my 8yr son gose to a private school (mainstream), just received phon call from CAT in Birmingham where we live. They said they were very unlikly able to provide their services to my son, as he is in private school.

Anyone know? if any private provider can provie similar servies to my son?

He has a serious verbal communication problems, he can speack in sch and at home but never in any other circumstances.

  • Thank you for your info, Colincat. It is very informative and helpful.

Visted the webpages you have suggested. Looks I need to learn more about education rights in England.

It's very strange to me though that childrens, whoc need these kind of services, are treated differently just because they are in different types of school, not because of their needs.

Anyway, there is a social "SYSTEM" that I can't beat.

I will let you know if I need further help. MANY thanks!
