I think my three year old mite be autistic

Hi I am new hear looking for some advice from parents of children on the spectrum I have a three year old little boy he makes good eye contact and he answers to he’s name and can speak but not has much has children he’s age he can say sentences putting three words together  he has been referred to speech language has he’s speaking is behind for he’s age I believe he mite have mild autism  he hits me and he’s sibling regularly and he will also hit with objects he sometimes for no reason what so ever out of the blue will start throwing things at people and hitting them he is usually a sweet and loving boy when he is not doing this he is also hates the feeling of any cream or soap on he’s skin  he also once before when he was excited slapped he’s own head while smiling he will also get stuff out the cupboards food items and pull them apart and mush them around like a very young baby would he also Has ran across the road and will run of if he gets up set he has thrown stuff at strangers before and the running across the road will be at random has anyones child been like this who’s got autism I have fort it could be ADHD but there is a large number of child with autism in the family he will rip toys of children two

  • Spectrum “orderings” or different orders tend to be genetic. Being behind the milestones of the majority might be an inadequate comparison if he’s wired to mature and learn in a different order. 

    For instance, dyslexia and hyperlexia are both “on the spectrum”, these humans are wired to have a relationship with symbols (letters, numbers, etc) differently and they’ll excel in different ways which society needs. I think about half of music composers and engineers are dyslexic. Many times builders and mechanics are dyslexic, and part of this different way of putting the world together actually allows them to excel in ways society needs. My son is dyslexic and writing composition and a young lad at our philosophy group is dyslexic and a great mechanic. With something like this it’s important to note humans have only been reading in a large scale for 200 years or so. My son isn’t like his peers in some ways, but excelling beyond them in emotional maturity.

    What is your son expressing interest in? It’s important to help nurture this first. 

    With autistic reasoning we need boundaries, uninterrupted space and to not be assaulted by unnatural sensory elements. If there is non-stop noise, even just a low buzz of an LED or the fridge, it will wear him thin and children don’t yet have learned coping mechanisms. 

    He will also have better sense perception in other areas like this mashing up food. Does he like making cakes with you? The feeling of a thing on his skin seems to be a recurrent event. It might be good to find out if certain fabrics are giving him anxiety  polyester is a petroleum by product and essentially like wearing plastic. This could create a half day build up of frustration he can’t express other than suddenly melting down.

    Salt is a natural cleaning agent. Perhaps a bowl of salt for him and a spritz of lemon juice will clean dirty hands.
