Won’t leave house.

My six year old Son won’t leave the house. We had planned to visit family who he spends a lot of time with and loves to see. We planned just one day out or half day with one or two choices of places we know he would enjoy but he doesn’t want to go out. He went to my parents house on Saturday a little reluctantly but he was fine once he got there ,he went to his swimming lesson very happily but since then he won’t go out. Even letting him take a favourite toy won’t make any difference. He has just started at a new school in September which he loves and I think he’s missing going. Any ideas?

It’s strange as my Mum called round and he attempted to walk out the door. He will go on his trampoline in the garden sometimes.

We have a couple of outings and activities planned for the coming months which are Autism friendly, I just hope he wants to do them.

Some of the problem on holiday was he wanted to run off and explore on his own, he has no awareness of danger.

I have shown him photos of places but no. On holiday this year we were very limited on the activities we did as there wasn’t much he seemed to enjoy for long, when he was younger he could enjoy going out for longer and go on more outings on holiday. I don’t want him to miss out on experiences.
