Hi, just wondering whether any other parents have experienced what we are going through with our 15 year old autistic son. He has shown some OCD for the last two years but it wasn't causing any problems but within the last two months it has become worse and is effecting his life. I was diagnosed with bowel cancer and had surgery, I was in hospital for a couple of weeks but luckily it has not spread so no other treatment needed. I spoke to my son explaining exactly what is going on with the surgery, tests etc, I was surprised that he actually took it well. I am worried that this has triggered something to make the OCD for intense for him. I have tried to talk to him about it but he says he doesn't want to talk about it, he doesn't want to see any doctors or therapists etc. At his special school they have tried also but he says nothing is wrong.
Any ideas?
