No school for my four year old

Just wondering if anyone can offer any advice. My four year old should have started reception in September but it was agreed that he would be best off in specialist school. However the local authority have told me that there are no schools with spaces and they are still looking.  I've lodged an appeal as they have failed to name a school. Is there anything else that anyone can recommend or any advice.  I'm worried my son is going to miss a whole year of school.

  • honestly they should just put him in a standard school, the damage they are causing by making him miss out on the social interaction will be the true reason he cannot make it in the future.... the whole being seperated from other kids and social interaction causes even in neuro typicals autistic type effects that holds them back and pretty much makes even NTs into seemingly autistic. so its causing him great damage being socially isolated from everyone else while everyone else his age are now together and learning how to socialise with others. your kid should be with them learning to socialise among his peers too, them holding him back will cause all the problems he has in the future.

i think that jordan peterson on youtube had a talk on something like that where a kids developmental age is key and if they are isolated from other kids and dont get to learn how to socially interact with other kids in the early phase then they will never be alright and always be damaged and left behind compared to others. if theres no specialist school he should at least be allowed into a standard one until they find a specialist one to avoid missing out on learning how to interact with others in this key part of his development.
