Awaiting autism assessment advice

Hello everyone, we are waiting for our son to get an autism assessment he is 3.5 years we have been waiting at least 2 years. We had a meeting yesterday with education phygoligist and his nursary as they cant offer him one to one support and he needs that. So it's been decided that he will attend a ASN nursary next year. I'm just really struggling to deal with all the feelings... Any Advice would be great.

  • Your son is fine. He’s just Autistic. He thinks differently, and will need support, but I guarantee he will still be the happy little boy you expected him to be. As he grows you will too, and you learn what works well for him, and what doesn’t. It’s a lot to think about and deal with, but Just try to relax and take things slowly. Read up on Autism and speak to other mums if you can. You will meet some once your son starts the nursery anyway.
Obviously we don’t yet know what your sons needs will be, so can’t speak about what the future may hold, but rest assured, he will be happy, healthy and a blessing.
