I need some advice on what this means. My Mum has said my six year old is developmentally a few years behind. He is delayed with language he is unclear sometimes if he is pronouncing a new word, he talks in short sentences and understands a lot of what is said to him, With his expressive language delay its difficult to know what he processes.He is delayed with self care and independence skills. He was previously at a mainstream school where he was about two to three years behind, it varies in different areas. He is now at a specialist school.He met his early milestones on time, walking was the late side of normal but not delayed. Until age two and a half he was non verbal then pre verbal. He was meeting his milestones but he seemed to be slightly delayed in a lot of them. Is this Autism or is my Mum right that he is also delayed?
