Meltdowns everyday

My daughter is having meltdowns everyday and everyday they are getting worse as she is losing her patience waiting for the home to school taxi service to reply about her getting a taxi. Because she turned 16, we had to reapply and its been days since they replied but are trying to sort a taxi out.

She is currently on a reduced timetable due to this, being picked up at 10 and dropped home by 2, (or 12 if its a Friday). She's very upset and frustrated because shes missing out on education and everything is changing because she doesn't have a taxi.

Monday she wasn't in which cause a meltdown. Tuesday, she hurt herself in the meltdown. Wednesday she has several in school. Thursday, none because she was at Thorpe Park. Today, she's already had many. She doesn't like her staff for today, she isn't allowed in school due to there not being enough time, she doesn't like doing her weekly reward offsite and she doesn't like the car she's in. I've constantly messaged the school asking if they can change things but they can't. She currently very upset so I've been messaging her and phoning her trying to calm her down. I've asked her if she just wants to stay at home today and she said no, don't cancel anything, that's the worst thing you can do. She absconded from school once this week.

Taxis are one of the biggest issues. Once she has a taxi sorted it's going to take her weeks to get settled back into the routine especially since its someone knew.

  • For the past few days, staff haven't been able to pick her up or drop her home due to staffing issues so I was having to go out of my way and change my whole day so I could do it. I can't do it anymore so it's down to the school. I have a really bad feeling that we aren't entitled to a taxi and we will have to pay for one which I don't have the money to do. I have explained this to her and said she may have to leave school and do something else but she doesn't want to. It's the change and missing everyone. She's been through so much and 10 schools since Year 7 she won't manage anymore changes.

It is a good school but its just waiting for a taxi, once thats sorted, if it does, then we will be on the right track.
