Boy shaving query

Hi,

I have a 15 year old son who has both ASD & ADHD. He also suffers from acne. It has got the stage where he needs to shave once a week.  I carry this out with a normal razor but I would be very reluctant to let him use it.  I've looked on the Internet but it seems the best razor for his acne is a manual razor. The websites I've looked at seem to say an electric razor helps spread the bacteria. I'm now not sure what I should do but any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thank you

  • Anything drawn across the skin can spread bacteria, I would have thought that a bladed traditional razor would have been worse than an electric razor as, it would tend to slice into active spots and release the bacteria-containing pus. With most electric razors the foil and cutting head can be taken off and cleaned with soap and water or alcohol between use.
