I hope everyone has had a good summer! Us staff are getting ready for the students to start back again. We are making sure we are extremely prepared and ready. Every term, on the first day back, we start school later on and let students go out for the afternoon to settle them back in. It also helps them deal with the change.
We are starting to ask parents how the summer has been so we aware if anything good or bad has happened. Most of the students are excited and ready to come back, some are a bit anxious, some don't want to come in, and some just aren't bothered.
Are there any ideas anyone can add to help the students adjust to the school routine. It's the same every year:
Get out taxi
Go to classroom
Do PECS
Talk to staff about summer
Go out
Come back to school and go home in taxi
They know what to expect which always makes it happier and easier for everyone but ofcourse sometimes things don't go to plan.
