Sandpit

We have just bought my Son some new sand for his sandpit which he plays with very happily. He insists on pouring liquid in it then standing or putting his hands in it. He got upset when I told him not to. How can I address this?  as he isn’t drinking his drinks and it’s messy.

  • Buy him a small crate with sand which he CAN pour water into and stand in. And then a lovely used sink to plug and wash off in next to it. 

    What's important is: 1. Health and well-being. And then 2. Time, which, with respect and trust and understanding is the the key "resource" relationships are built on. What is it he loves about this feeling? We create rose gardens and zen gardens, we make the perfect cup of tea. Humans are sensory beings and senses which bring an amount of joy and restfulness every day are better for our health than minding the exact nutrients or caloric intake. Afford him his small indulgences and one day, when he's older, he will insist on procuring them for you.

    It appears to be the feel of very wet sand. The problem is he insists on pouring his fruit juice in the sand which attracts ants and wasps.
