My son is coming home next week after being in a hostel in Newport Wales, he will be 18. He is currently in college studying IT. I myself get UC and PIP. My son gets PIP and UBI in a couple of months time. It's something that a child gets when coming out of care. Will this interupt my benefits, I know I can't claim carers allowence bc it could lower my UC, and I'm on disability myself. Could I loose some of my benefits bc he will be getting more than I do in benefits. Even though it's not my money.
As I said, he is in college not working. And the UBI he will be getting will only last until he is 20 I think. Even though he is 18 is there any extra help I myself can get. Carers allowence as I said could effect my benefits. So I'm not sure what I can or can't do to get extra help.
Does anyone have any advice.
