Hi,
4 months back my two years and four months old son was diagnosed as Autistic by a Sri Lankan Pediatrician and advised us to give my son Speech Therapy and admit him to a Nursery / Play Group as soon as we come to the UK. We arrived the UK last month and still I couldn't find a play group for our son. Mmñ
Although there are great Nursery near us, which runs by Charity and government help is willing to admit my son to their nursery without charging a fee, unfortunately we are still don't have an idea about the eligibility to get free education for my son, as my husband is a Full-time Postgraduate international Student and according to our VISA category, we are not entitled to enjoy any government funds or aids.
I want to know, whether the law is still the same for a Student dependant child with Autism or there are exceptions for the kids with such special needs to get government aids for free education or other childcare facilities lawfully?
Because of our low income level, we are unable to spend on school fees and we can not wait keeping our son at home another 7 moths due to his condition which needs to be improved by being socialized.
For further review, following are the details about my son and his condition.
Please advice us about our legal eligibility to get free facilities for our son.
Thank you
