HEALIOS assessments for girls

Hello, I am new to this community. We have been waiting 2 years for an assessment for my daughter (age 8) and we have been offered a HEALIOS online assessment. I have major doubts about this format and question if my daughter will engage / will she mask really well, meaning she doesn't get a correct diagnosis. Please could anyone let me know if they have had an assessment done in this way for a girl and how did they find it? Are they good at correctly identifying ASD in girls that are expert at hiding their true selves? Thanks.

  •  i was asked to answer few questions on paper prior to an assessment. It was good idea, becuase I could focus on it and avoided getting emotional when writing what would make me forget half of it

I had few Zoom interviews, I find them a lot less stressfull than face-to-face

  • I can’t help about females taking the test. However, we had an online assessment when our son was 16. He was with us at the beginning and then was asked questions on his own. Many of the questions centred on autism traits as a young child. It was quite difficult to remember - so maybe you might like to think ahead and remember some of the behaviour that she may have done when younger. You could perhaps look up lists of signs of autism that might remind you. For example, I had forgotten that my son used to stare at lights and then I remembered after the assessment. My son masks well and has learnt a lot of techniques for coping that mean he doesn't appear that bad a lot of the time, so it could be useful to write down ideas when they come to you. I hope that helps.
