Socks

My recently diagnosed 6 year old experiences hypersensitivity - amongst other things, he has daily struggles when putting socks on and hates the way they feel. He gets so distressed putting on regular socks - we have tried various seam free, bamboo, ultra-soft types. We discovered the Sensory Smart Store and whilst socks from here are better than others they still cause him daily distress (huge meltdowns whilst changing socks anything up to 30/40 times in a morning (he'll try the same sock multiple times - we don't have that many!), multiple stops on the walk to school to readjust the socks etc.) When he gets to school he looks uncomfortable but as we wait for him to go in it looks as though he has forgotten about how his socks feel but I fear he is masking as he is very concerned about what his peers think of him and fears any attention, positive or negative, from them. I don't know what to do. I don't know how to approach this, how to help him. Does anyone have any ideas or advice? Thank you
