no schooling provision for 16 year old, where do i turn?

Hi, thank you for your interest. yes he is statemented. He has been home tutored from age 13 and then in special needs school for a year and half. the school is not yet able to offer 6th form , and they only have 10 places for all the children to compeat for in another school out of area. He has a connections which have said they have the same trouble for other boys which isnt much help. They said to write a cv and apply to other places if we want, trouble is where? how? ect. there must be someone responsible to ensure the law is followed and give solid advice. my son has autism and is going to find mainstream classes impossible.
