advice on i.e.p

my son is 8 in y4 and got dx 18 months ago as HF autism and social anxiety disorder. he started in a special need nursery (part of the local mainstream) and was intigrated into mainstream just before he started in reception. he was on school action + as a speech thereapist came into work with him. he is very conformist during school due to his anxiety.

the problem started when a new head took over (2 yrs ago) he got 'sneakily' taken off school action + with no discussion with us at all. i did contest this but it fell on deaf ears, i also sent in his dx report but his teacher since did not know he had been on an i.e.p or why he had been in sen nursery. i need to make an appointment to see the senco as i havent a clue what help he is getting if any.

he has no problems academically  as he is working at a y5/6 level in maths and I.T. but with english, he is working at a y2/3 level his previous teacher noted it was due to his lack of imagination and i feel he should have an i.e.p even if its just extra help with english as i am concerned that he could fall behind further if he continues with no extra support.

any one with simular experiences or advice ?
