Hi everyone. I hope you are having a good day night. I am new to the forums here so please let me know if I do something wrong. Some background info for you: I am on here for behalf of the school teachers. We work with young people, (11-19) who have autism and some of which have other diagnoses. We have decided to join to get some new ideas to help our young people cope with their struggles. Honestly, right now we are struggling with a few certain students and their challenging behaviour and which one is displaying new behaviours which hasn't been seen before. We are working with this young child's parents to give them some help and support and we are hoping someone has some good ideas. Of course, we know our students best and its hard when you have no clue what is happening in their mind and get upset, which to us seems like 'no apparent reason' when there is an issue we need to deal with and overcome as they come.
I hope someone can point us in the right direction with a particular student who's expressing new challenging behaviour. Honestly we have no clue why, neither do the parents. We don't want this behaviour to continue because they'll end up being excluded which we really don't want and is a last resort.
I hope I'm doing this right, correct me if I'm not. Have a good rest of the day/night. Thank you if you read all this. We appreciate it.
