Weighted blanket advice

Hello all, my nearly 3 yr old son is on the asd pathway, I have seen a few adverts for weighted blankets and was wondering if anyone can share their experiences using them for their child. They're quite varied in price too so would love some brand recommendations of where to buy. I was hoping it might help my son calm down when he becomes overwhelmed. Would a weighted blanket be the right thing for him?

  • My daughter first got a weighted blanket when she’d just turned 4 and she likes it to relax under. Might be worth trying him with a cheaper one first, my husband doesnt like weighted blankets there is no guarantee it will work for your son. I personally struggle to wind down enough to sleep without one.  I got my daughter a polycotton one from eBay for 20 something quid. The very expensive ones are usually made with textured fleece which is £30+ per metre
