Hello,
Last month I had my first psychiatrist appointment and she said she would be giving me a diagnosis but she wants to get to know me first to help her decide on an appropriate diagnosis.
Last week she sent multiple questionnaires for me to fill out scores on questions about childhood, teenager, young adult and one that is relevant to the past 6 months. I filled them out.
Today I had my 2nd appointment and she asked me more in depth questions around certain scores. At the end of the appointment she said I am going to speak to the head psychiatrist about what i am thinking, I questioned what she was thinking and she said she had 3 conditions in mind which are ADHD, BPD or Autism.
She said she wants to bring up ADHD to the head psychiatrist first and if I receive diagnosis then she wants to start treatment and see how I get along and then she will continue to see me to monitor me monthly and then look at BPD and or Autism.
This is a bit off topic but I got home and googled Autism & BPD & ADHD and it says I would have to notify the DVLA of any diagnosis. I only just passed my test in February and I’m so worried I won’t be allowed to drive. I have been receiving lessons since last year passed theory and driving test first time. I’ve worked so hard to make life easier for both my boys both ASD by learning to drive and now I worried it’s all going to be taken away from us.
Has anyone on here been forced to give up driving due to receiving a diagnosis?
