Hi we are going on holiday in 2 weeks, flying from manchester airport and have been trying to arrange some sort of assistance for our 4 year old son with asc. He finds busy, noisy places and being too close to people very distressing and will scream and lash out, so we are really dreading the whole queuing for check in/security etc. We have noise reduction headphones, ipod, fav toys all ready so that should help but we cant control everything! We have booked through Thomas Cook and have spoke to various girls there who dont seem to have an idea what autism even is! My mum who is travelling us and needs to use a wheelchair had assistance arranged without question, but we have been told we will have to pay for our sons assistance, does this sound right?? Does anyone have any experience with airports etc? Thank you
