EHCP refused! :(

  • Hi.. I have a child who got diagnosed with ASD and developmental delays. My child is at nursery school and is needing a lot of support so together we recently applied for a EHCP for my child and it has been refused.. as apparently my child has enough support. She doesn't have enough to support her needs and her school agrees with this. Does anyone know what I can do about this ? I'm so out of my depth with it all and I don't want them to back me down so I just accept the refusal.

  • (1) request another assessment and request another assessor.

    (2) talk to and write to your local MP about your problem 

    (3) find an organisation like " Family Voice" in your area. they advocate on behalf of parents of autistic children from 0 -25 but they're located in Norfolk. It might be worth while contacting them and explaining the situation and see what they can suggest over the phone.
