Injuries

My daughter has many bruises on her. Mainly arms and legs and she doesn't know how she got them. My guess is that they are from school mainly. She will just be walking along then just fall and drop to the floor and just lay there. Sometimes, teachers are linking arms with her when she's offiste and when she decides to go to the floor, they can safely guide her. But she is getting injured on a daily basis. Dropping to the floor, head banging, biting herself. How can we reduce the risk of injury when she falls to the floor. She always does it onto concrete or hard flooring. It is just random and you don't know when it happens. She does have some specific places she lays on the floor.

  • Update: she has many more bruises. Some she can explain and knows how they happened. The others, she can only guess. For example, her knees have been swollen for days now. One is swollen and is bruised. I've told her to keep a diary or tell me when she hurts herself and gets more bruises. We are going to put a bandage on her knee to help since she's got an ice pack on at the moment. She is coming home with around 10 ice packs a week from school. I've let the school know about her injuries.

My worst fear might be coming back aswell. When she was a baby, she had I.T.P, which is where she was covered in spots and bruises for no reason, it was really bad and she nearly died. She spent a year having blood works and stuff. I just hope it hasn't come back.

  • They are working on her movement in O.T (Occupational Therapy) making her throw and catch a ball then adding another 2 into the equation. They are also working on her balance.
