asd son escaped under school gate?

hi all,

my son age 9, has aspergers (asd) and a month ago we finally had it sorted, walking him to school on my own was working, as he was off previously due to running off/ in to roads etc, then he escaped under the playground gate, ran through the school and out of school, but............... ' its ok' they said 'we got him back'.  his T.A said she doesnt know what happened, as she was watching him, i asked if she was watching him, how did it happen, she had no reply. he tells me she was not near him, as he had to squeeze under, so she would have got to him if watching him. he has 1 on 1 t.a fully funded. that day he wouldnt come home, as he knows he doesnt get in trouble at school, hence why he does these things. so we got home 2 hrs later, when we finally got him out of the school. i havent taken him back since, this was well over a month or so ago.

since then the head hasnt even rang me to explain, i thought i would of heard from him, the sence hasnt called. or the ta.

the education welfare is telling me he needs to be back in school, i told her until the school can explain , and reassure me it wotn happen again, then he isnt going back, they still havent called. my friend mentioned a risk assessment? she said i need to ask for one to be carried out? should i inform ofsted? the school is now in special measures, and we have moved house and trying to get a transfer. yet noone will help.

the local sen dept rang me to ask me where i am sending him, as he needs to be in school, i said i know that and explained about what had happened, i said i will not send my son until i feel its safe to go back. and she practically hung up on me, again, lost for knowing what to do., he is too 'bright' for special school, yet cant deal with the numbers, the noise, the general day to day of mainsteam, bullied lots. which is never sorted.

so now hes home, bored. a meeting is arranged for anothe 3 weeks time in his school with the ed psych, ladfy from local special school, ta. senco and ed welf' officer. when i asked what the meeting was, i was told a intergration meeting, yet i specifically said i refuse for him to go back. the welfare officer said its going down as unauthorised absense. i said i dont care, i know hes safe here. she said shes out of ideas now, and to wait the 3 weeks until meeting, i asked school to send him work home, and books so hes not getting behind. they said they would, i went in to be told they have nothing for him. i am fuming.

should i ring ofsted and report it? i am so frustrated. noone will help xx
