Do it sound like I qualify for DLA?

I don't want this post to remain up for too long. I'm recently of age, but still receiving DLA for some reason and not PIP. I'm responsible for updating my claim. I receive lower rate mobility component and middle rate care component because I have autism, and it does effect me, but it doesn't effect me in a way that requires me to have a carer anymore. Hence why I'm asking the question in the title. I'm quite capable now. I have household responsibilities, do all of my own chores including but not limited to my own laundry and am capable of following recipes to cook my own meals and washing up afterwards. Loading and unloading the dishwasher too. All of which I think to do by myself without prompting from another person. I look both ways and listen out for cars when I cross the road. In truth I don't need to be accompanied when I go out. I'm sensible and watch out for cautions. I know which side of the road to walk on when there isn't a path depending on which direction I'm going in. Chores include things that shouldn't have anything to do with me such as maintaining the household, we all have to contribute. I'm unsure what my parents are doing beyond what a normal parent would in terms of care for me that qualifies them for carers allowance . There are some things I can't do, but not because of my autism. For example, I'd do my own food shopping, but I don't because it's not my own money being spent. I waited until now to send this because it is only now that I've had enough experience with it, because I am now confident and safe doing all of these things. I've been gradually building up to it for years, with a view to move out and live independently. It should have been a lot sooner, that amount of time was never necessary, but things got in the way that had nothing to do with my autism. Now that I'm of age, there's no reason why I can't get experience in doing what else I need to learn to live a completely independent life. I believe I have the right for the DLA claim to be revoked. If anyone can think of a reason as to why I should still be receiving DLA, please let me know before I fire off an email to the DWP.

  • I get the lowest rate of PIP but since that was given i feel i've gone much worse, but i just haven't the energy to do anything about it. Last time i had help filling in the form from Citizens Advice, they were very good, i'd suggest you see them. Something else  i've  seen only recently. there are loads of PIP videos on Youtube giving advice.

I've just got home from the hospital and have more appointments due, i'vre been putting off any  extra PIP claims until i get results which may help.
