Too much sleep? Is this an autistic trait?

Our 14 nearly 15 year old daughter refuses to get up in the morning, normally rising about 3/4 o'clock some days. No matter how we try to get her out of bed (she is in a high bed because her room is the smallest) she will just ignore us. If we come up with a plan the day before and she agrees with her own conditions, it still never happens, we give her consequences, makes no difference, we have tried rewards, it still never happens. She will be worse when we try to go to an appointment, which i have to cancel 99% of the time. Its so exhausting. 

She is being assessed next month but was hoping you guys may have some ideas as to how we can help her?

  • I’ve recently started to realise I may have autism - I originally thought it was ADHD but when I started looking at the crossover I realise that autism might be playing a role too!

    I was just wondering what were the signs that originally made you realise you have/might have autism? Especially if you were diagnosed as an adult rather than as a child.

    And a follow on question - looking back what did you do as a child that was likely due to autism? I want to get tested but seeing other peoples experiences I’m worried about the process - my memory is so rubbish I’m worried they’ll think I’m just wasting their time.
