Son-Rise Programme

Has anyone done the Son-Rise programme which is run by US organisation. Thinking of doing it but not sure if it is a money con as it is very expensive.

I have a 7year old autistic child who is non verbal, and will try anything to help him.

Love to hear from someone who has done course or who is involved with families who have

  • Hi Portmhor

We went on the son-rise course 2010 and like you had reservations beforehand but it turned out to be great! Money was never the issue as most of the Uk courses were funded by Caudwell children charity. I dont think they are funding it this year but you can apply direct to them.

Be very wary of anything that claims to be a miracle cure

This is true so always best to do your research and ask other parents for feedback. We did this beforehand and it was also recommended by our GP who has a special interest in Autism.

ABA great but cost £40,000 pa most of this cost goes to management team. £100 per hour for consultant and £35 for supervisors etc. Tutors are the ones who do the work and they are hard to find hence they train up students who are not paid as much Smile

At the end of the day its about spending 1-1 time and whatever you do will benefit both parents and the child.
