GCSE ADVICE

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help.  If an autistic child is unable to attend their GCSE'S in person due to anxiety the schools offer an invigilator to come to their house.  However in this case the child cannot have an invigilator in. the same room (anxiety) so has anyone had any experience of their child taking exams with the invigilator being online for example via zoom?

Thank you

  • Hi - I am trying to arrange the exact same thing for my daughter. It is exhausting! I have emailed the exam board and they have escalated my question and I will let you know if I get anywhere! Initially they said no but I quoted some equality act legislation and they have escalated it. It is my understanding that universities use remote invigilators so I can’t understand why this can’t be used for GCSES.

I am sorry you are going through this - you are not alone xx
